One amazing race

The Castle Peak 100K is one amazing race. One of, if not the most difficult courses I have run, beautiful views and great aid stations and volunteers. If you like to run long this should be high up on your to do list.

Everything wrapped in one

I want to thank you and everyone involved in putting this event together. I had an awesome experience and will highly recommend this race to everyone. Especially those looking for an adventure as well as a run. It had everything all wrapped up in one race!!!

First class mountain 100k

I think Castle Peak 100k is going to become the 100k that all ultra runners aspire to do. Not because it's an easy course, but because it is a brutal course. A real first class mountain 100k. Even though my runner missed the cutoff at mile 46, and I didn't get to pace her, I had a great time hanging out at the Van Norden aid station and cheering on all the other runners. Congrats to everyone that started the race whether you finished or not, and congrats to Helen Pelster, Peter Fain, and all the volunteers for putting on a great inaugural Castle Peak 100k. Unafraid.

Epic course

To everyone that was involved in the Castle Peak 100k (in any way at any point)... I just wanted to say thank you! Not only for this past weekend and for all of the weeks leading up to it but also for having the idea and passion to follow through with making this race a reality. Thank you for sharing your trails and your time - not only is the course epic, but getting to run with the members of this group out there was really inspiring. This is definitely one of the best races in the world (and this is one badass running group)! I feel like someday I might have to enter a lottery to get into this race (and I say "might" because I'm kind of hoping you will always let me in no matter what :-D). But seriously, what an amazing gift! Very well done! You know how to throw one helluva party! I'm already excited for the years to come and for seeing you all out there in the meantime.

Thanks also to the medical folks

Thanks Peter, Helen and all the volunteers for a wonderful experience at CP100K. For me the half mile leading up to the Palisades were more epic than the Palisades themselves. Thanks also to the medical folks both on the Palisades and the finish line for cleaning my cut and bandaging me up. That was the first time in 12 years of trail running that a trail has drawn blood from me.
