- Take exit 188A toward Truckee
- Turn left onto Donner Pass Road
- At the traffic circle, take the second exit to stay on Donner Pass Rd
- At the next traffic circle, take the third exit to turn left on 89N
- At the third traffic circle, take the second exit to stay on 89N
- Stay on 89N for 3.1 miles
- The trailhead will be on your right
Sugar Bowl Resort / Finish Line: (NOTE: No Dogs are allowed on Sugar Bowl property)

- Take exit 180 toward Donner Lake
- Continue onto ramp, turn left on Billy Mack Rd, and continue onto Donner Pass Rd

- Stay on Old 40 for 3.7 miles (this is a windy road)
- Turn left on Sugar Bowl Rd (across from Donner Ski Ranch) and continue for 1.8 miles
To Johnson Canyon / Mile 24.5 (about 7 minutes from Donner Memorial State Park):

Safety runners will sign waivers and pick up their bibs at Van Norden
